Legacy Plaza
Auburn, WA
Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Mixed-Use | 166 units | .85 Acres
The Legacy Plaza is a mixed-use senior living apartment community located in the heart of downtown Auburn. The Senior Housing Assistance Group (SHAG) location hosts a 216,000 SF building with over 166 units (a portion of units are reserved for low-income individuals) with commercial space on the ground level. The previous site area was an asphalt and gravel parking lot consisting of four adjacent parcels that total just under one acre of land. The new development included improvements to the surrounding roadways, driveways and sidewalks, with over 110 structured parking spaces and 17 street parking spaces.
Barghausen provided civil engineering, land surveying, and construction administration services for the Auburn apartment project. Our survey crews provided ALTA, boundary and topographic surveys. Civil engineering designs included exhibits for demolition, TESC, horizontal control, grading and drainage, utilities, stormwater, and the design of the surrounding roadways. The stormwater design included utilizing an existing vault and adding another detention vault that was built onsite. The development had almost 90 percent impervious surfaces, so the building features rooftop gardens to help with stormwater runoff and adds an additional outdoor oasis for residents.
