Tukwila recently gained a modern hotel experience, the Element by Westin. This five-story hotel is perfectly placed between Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, and the SeaTac Airport. The Element has a total of five stories, 177 rooms, a full-service lobby bar, fitness center, indoor pool and spa, EV charging stations, conference rooms, and an outdoor patio with built-in grilling and fire pit.

The entire project consisted of designing and constructing the 116,665 SF hotel on a 3.4-acre site, along with the associated drive aisles, parking, landscaping, storm drainage, and utility connections. Barghausen provided plans for the demolition and TESC, horizontal control, utilities, grading, and storm drainage on site. The site was relatively flat and had minimal previous storm drainage. Our team designed an underground stormwater detention vault and a modular wetland with 13 total catch basins throughout the site. Throughout the project trees and natural vegetation were preserved to the fullest extent possible.
