We started off the week with Sunday brunch for a fantastic cause, Northwest Hope and Healing’s annual fashion show fundraiser! Barghausen was proud to sponsor and attend the event hosted at the Seattle Yacht Club. The afternoon was full of sunshine, catwalks, live music, good company and uplifting testimonials from women who battled and beat cancer.
Northwest Hope and Healing is a non-profit company that supports local women undergoing treatment for gynecological and breast cancer. The organization helps women with the financial burdens of treatment by paying for necessities such as food, utilities, and childcare. Their goal is to alleviate the financial stresses of a diagnosis so patients can focus on what’s important, healing. Over the last 20 years the organization has provided over $2,000,000 in grants, given over 10,000 gift boxes and helped over 2,500 patients through their cancer journey.
The 2021 annual fashion event, Life in Color, included both silent and live auctions and a raffle with everything from bottles of champaign to extravagant weekend getaways. The main fashion show event is always a special occasion, with garments modeled by cancer survivors that were supported by NW Hope and Healing during their fight. The afternoon was full of fashion, food and celebrating each victory accomplished by the strong women who overcame their diagnosis.
The auction events from the brunch alone raised over $300,000 for the organization. The in-person event was just the start, the organization is hosting another virtual fashion show event on August 22, 2021. The virtual event will feature news and stories of the resilient model survivors and footage from the in-person event.
