Senior Civil Project Manager

"I have worked at Barghausen for 19 years and started in the world of land development in the early 2000s. I originally worked for a company that specialized in global communication infrastructure. From there, I got into private site development. Over the last 20 years, I have gained a wealth of experience that I use to serve the needs of our clients.

I grew up close to Richland in a nearby town called Prosser where my family lives. It was nice to bring my children back to the area so we could live closer to family. Some of my favorite aspects of Richland are the open environment and the lack of traffic.

One of my favorite projects that I have worked on in the Richland area is the Kennewick Chick-fil-A which is slated to open in 2025. It was a fun project to bring to the area.

My favorite aspect of working at Barghausen is collaborating with my awesome co-workers every day!"

I am also a pilot and enjoy flying, rock climbing, golfing, mountain biking, attending church, and woodworking. I love the work I do!

A few of my favorite aspects about Richland are the good weather, the good community, and my family.

Some of my favorite projects in the area are Crimson Hills residential development, Costco Kennewick, and Sterling Heights.

My favorite part about working at Barghausen is the fantastic management team including people who are supportive, knowledgeable, and care about me and my projects!"

Project Engineer

"I am 31 years old and grew up in Enumclaw, WA. After high school, I attended WSU, where I graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in civil engineering. I moved to the Tri-Cities in 2017 after meeting my wife while visiting the area, and we now have 2 amazing boys – Maverick (5) and Rylan (2). I have been a licensed professional engineer for 3 years, after passing my P.E. Exam in 2021. I enjoy site development engineering, with my passion being focused on residential development. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing video/board games, and watching football. Faith and family are the most important aspects of my life, everything I do revolves around them.

I met my wife when I was visiting the Tri-Cities 7 years ago and fell in love with the area. The Tri-Cities have all of the amenities of a big city, while still maintaining the connections and community that you would find in a small town.

I enjoy working on residential developments, and there are a few around the Tri-Cities that we are currently working on. My favorite is a multi-phase residential development in Franklin County.

I have been working for Barghausen for over a year, and some of my favorite aspects of working here include the great benefits and pay, flexible work schedule, good work/life balance, and high-quality engineering."

Joshua Hazlett

Design Engineer

"My name is Joshua Hazlett, and I grew up in Olympia, Washington, where I enjoyed the rain and great hiking locations. I received my first two degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology from WSU-Pullman. In 2017, I returned to school at the WSU Tri-Cities Campus, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. I graduated in 2021 and started working for the City of Kennewick as a Traffic Technician.

Desiring to do more design work, I found an opening for an entry-level Design Engineer at Barghausen (Richland office). After reading some comments about the company, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for.

I have been living in the Tri-Cities area since 2017 to go back to school. I didn't expect to stay long, but I have since started a family, and we have grown to like the area and the sunshine. Although there are not many places to hike near the Tri-Cities, my kids keep me busy.

I have been enjoying the work so far; it is fast-paced and rewarding. I just started in the middle of April this year, so I am still new to the company, but my coworkers are friendly and always willing to answer my questions.

I look forward to growing within the company, becoming a proficient Civil Engineer, and possibly a Principal Engineer in the future."
